There are many opportunities to participate in the Lakewood Village community through the LVNA, ranging from being an LVNA officer for a year or more to being a one-time
volunteer for a specific event or activity. Here are some of the possible opportunities for you to consider:
- The LVNA has five officers -- a President, two Vice Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer -- who are elected annually by residents. Contact any of the current officers to find out more about the duties and responsibilities of those positions.
- The LVNA Villager is written, published, and delivered, once per month by a small team of volunteers. The regular functions are Editor, Advertising and Production Coordinator, and Newsletter Walker Coordinator. There is a group of regular “Newsletter Walkers” who deliver The Villager to groups of houses in their immediate area. There are also opportunities to contribute to The Villager by writing articles. Contact any of the current volunteers to find out more about what each job entails.
- Each of the events coordinated by the LVNA requires volunteer help at all levels. Contact any LVNA officer to find out more about how to volunteer to help produce events like the Holiday Parade, Holiday Lighting Contest, and Picnic.
- LVNA meetings can always use some volunteer help to set up the facility, beverages, handouts, and other logistical tasks. Contact the LVNA President to discuss these opportunities.
- From time to time, the LVNA has specific projects that need volunteers. Or, if you have an idea for a project that you would like to create, the LVNA can help you organize
the effort. Contact any LVNA officer to discuss projects.
- Finally, the LVNA’s monthly general meetings are an opportunity for residents to speak out on issues and concerns or simply listen to others and stay informed. Coming to
the LVNA meetings is the most basic and easiest way to participate in the LVNA and in our community.
